College Assist collects nonpublic personal
information about you from the following sources:
- Loan applications, promissory notes, correspondence,
communications, and other forms;
- Your transactions with us or with others such
as your lender(s) and the U.S. Department of Education
and their respective agents with respect to your
student loan;
- Various federal and state agencies;
- Schools you attend, or formerly attended, or to
which you have applied for admission;
- Temporary Cookies" (small pieces of data stored
by your Internet Browser that are used to verify
Log-on ID, verify and remember your Passwords for
you, and provide customized content) that are deleted
when you close your Internet Browser or log-off
the College Assist Web Site; and
- Credit reporting agencies.
College
Assist does not disclose your "nonpublic
personal information (NPPI)" except as
is permitted or required by law (such as with College
Assist contractors and agents, with schools,
with lenders, and with the U.S. Department of Education),
as needed to administer your loan in conformance with
law. College Assist restricts access to your
NPPI to our employees, to schools and lenders, and
to our contractors and agents, who need to know the
information in order to provide service to you such
as servicing and collecting your student loan. College
Assist maintains physical, electronic, and
procedural safeguards in compliance with federal law
and regulations in order to safeguard your NPPI.
