Unsubsidized Stafford Loan:

A Stafford Loan for which the federal government does not pay the interest while the student is in school, the grace period, or during authorized deferments. The student is responsible for repaying the amount borrowed and all the interest. If interest is not paid before the end of the grace period, then the interest will be capitalized, or converted to principal. Also see Federal Stafford Loan.
